Singrow announces expansion to Malaysia, Thailand through franchise-farm partnerships

Singapore

Singrow, a Singapore-based startup agri-genomics firm, announced its partnerships with franchise farms in Malaysia and Thailand, TreeGrow Sdn Bhd, and PREINO Co., Ltd, marking significant progress in its global expansion plans.

The signing of the two Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) took place at the official opening of Singrow’s new farm and was officiated by Singapore’s Minister of State for the Ministry of Trade and Industry & Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, Mr. Alvin Tan. Located at the Singapore Science Park, the Singrow Farm will serve as the company’s research and development (R&D) hub.

Furthering the development of its Singrow Strawberries, the R&D hub will focus on developing other novel crop varieties through the same revolutionary technology to combat the adverse effects of climate change on farming worldwide.

Speaking at Singrow Farm’s official opening ceremony, Dr. Bao Shengjie, Founder, CEO, and Chief Scientist at Singrow, shared, “Today marks a momentous occasion for Singrow as we proudly launch our new farm in the presence of the Minister of State for the Ministry of Trade and Industry & Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, Mr. Alvin Tan. The Singrow Farm represents our unwavering commitment to innovation and sustainability in agriculture, and we are thrilled to continue our work in developing climate-resilient and other novel crops that can withstand the agricultural challenges of our present environment.”

Furthermore, Bao mentioned that they are excited to establish these agreements with their new partners from Malaysia and Thailand and are on course to expand Singrow’s presence in China as well. Bao sees that the collaboration will make Singrow’s technology and crop varieties available to more farmers and growers in the region.

“These mark the first few steps as we scale the commercialization of our unique Singrow crop varieties, and we look forward to achieving global success together with our eco-system partners.”
