Indonesia-based KarirLab has announced today that it has successfully secured an undisclosed amount in a pre-seed funding round, with investment from prominent venture capital firms Alpha JWC Ventures and M Venture Partners.
The company, in a press release, expressed that this funding round will play a pivotal role in accelerating KarirLab’s product development, expanding its team, and establishing strategic partnerships with leading universities and employers in the industry.
KarirLab aims to enhance its platform, ensuring a seamless experience for students and employers alike, catering to the evolving needs of the job market. The funding injection will be instrumental in achieving these goals.
Tessa Saraswati, Co-Founder and CEO of KarirLab, expressed her excitement about the potential this pre-seed round holds. She stated, “With this pre-seed round, KarirLab is positioned to fulfill our potential in partnering with universities and employers at scale. We are excited to empower the next generation of young professionals and revolutionize career services and management in Indonesia to propel more quality graduates and career opportunities.”
KarirLab serves as an online platform that connects students and campuses with hiring employers. The company was founded in 2022 by Tessa Saraswati, Stephanus Wicardo, and William Surya Wijaya, who collectively believe in providing students from all backgrounds with access to resources that help them build a solid foundation for navigating the job market. This includes services such as creating effective resumes and professional branding from an early stage.
The platform bridges the gap between students, universities, and employers by offering a comprehensive and streamlined career development and management system. Its range of products includes individual profile evaluation, an ATS-friendly resume builder, a curated job vacancy portal, and talent management services. KarirLab has already gained significant traction, with hundreds of thousands of users and thousands of job postings from various organizations across Indonesia as of the first half of 2023.
In collaboration with universities, KarirLab has hosted numerous live and virtual career events, attracting over 20,000 participating students combined. The startup initially incubated at Yale University in 2021 and has become an active supporter of Indonesia’s Ministry of Education & Culture’s Kampus Merdeka initiative and the Ministry of Manpower’s TalentHub program.
KarirLab’s recent funding success positions it well to further solidify its presence in the Indonesian job market and continue its mission of providing valuable career services to students while fostering strong connections between universities and employers.
